McDonald’s teases audience with Hipster Duck audition tape

McDonald’s are teasing customers of a mysterious new initiative set to drop July 23 with a series of online “audition” videos featuring animals.

Mumbrella understands they are part of an “exciting new digital campaign” created by DDB Sydney launching in the coming weeks, although the fast food chain is remaining tight lipped as to more details.

The first starring a Hipster Duck in his 18th take giving the camera a duck face and using a fake moustache.

Ginger Echidna features in the second “audition” style tape while a voice over wonders “How do echindas do the group hug thing? Is it a bit pointy?”

The fast-food chain is pushing the videos directed by Paul Berry out across Facebook, encouraging its fans to guess what’s coming using the hashtag #dropintomaccas.

However, the posting of the Hipster Duck video was quickly hijacked by some fans urging McDonald’s to commit to phasing out caged eggs.
