Mediabrands Australia hires ex-GroupM chief learning officer Genelle Sharples
Genelle Sharples, formerly director of learning and development for GroupM Asia Pacific, has moved to Mediabrands.
Sharples led GroupM people development programs for nine years.
Most recently she was director of Hong Kong-based business Activate Expertise, focusing on skill development and potential.
As the communication group’s chief learning officer, Sharples will report to executive chairman Henry Tajer working across all divisions of the business.
Tajer said: “Genelle is a world class talent with an enviable reputation for driving positive behavioural change through learning and development, facilitation and coaching programs. She will take on the highly important role of driving our professional development and learning programs that will further accelerate Mediabrands’ differentiation and competitive capabilities in Australia.”
Sharples said: “When I met with senior Mediabrands executives I was impressed with the calibre of the people and their collaborative approach. Henry and the senior team have a grand ambition for the Mediabrands business and they understand how professional learning and development can contribute to their future success. I am delighted to be joining the team and driving this new portfolio at Mediabrands.”
According to Linkedin, Sharples was also head cheerleader for Global Ethics Limited Asia Pacific.
Sharples starts on 21 November.
