Mediacom veteran Efi Richter moves to Mediabrands

efi richterMediacom’s head of people and culture Efi Richter is to move to rival Mediabrands to be the agency’s chief talent officer.

Richter will begin the new role in August.  IPG Mediabrands Australia’s executive chairman Henry Tajer said the group had been pursuing her for some time.

“We have had Efi in our sights for quite some time in considering the ambitions and outcomes for this vital role,” said Tajer.

“She has unique energy, experience and a leadership track record that will further elevate our professional skills across the group into the future. It’s a big job – we are approaching 500 people and the quality of our skill sets and people development is paramount to delivering the best outcomes for clients.”

Richter has been at the Mediacom for the past 19 years and has worked on clients including Procter & Gamble, New South Wales Government, Pfizer and Westpac.

“After 19 years at MediaCom I was ready to take the next step in my own personal challenge,” said Richter.

“I was attracted to the Mediabrands opportunity as I have worked with Henry before and I have immense respect for him. I understand his vision for the future, the business and its people and am looking forward to being part of that. I believe people are our best asset and they drive the success of a business. My passion is supporting them to reach their full potential.”

In a statement Mediacom confirmed the departure: “Efi has decided to pursue other challenges and we thank her for her dedication and service over the years. Efi’s work, passion and commitment was second to none in the evolutionary years of the agency, so we wish her well on her new path.”

Mediacom said it would announce a replacement shortly.
