Mediacom wins Mission Foods from Carat

Mediacom has won the media account of Mission Foods, which was previously held by Carat for the last two years.

The announcement:

MediaCom has started 2011 as they finished 2010 with another new business win, Mission Foods. MediaCom secured the Mission Foods account following a review in late 2010 against the previous incumbent Aegis owned Carat/Mitchell Group.

MediaCom will manage the media planning and buying arrangements, MediaCom will be working closely with the Mission in-house team to continue to grow awareness of the Mission brand and thevarious product categories which they distribute nationally.

Maria Mitropoulos, National Marketing Manager says; “Mission Foods are looking to take the next step of our growth in the Australian grocery landscape and become a household name. We believe MediaCom will be a great partner to help us shape this expansion.”

Group Business Director, Naomi Johnston says; “We’re looking forward to applying a more integrated communications approach to the business. For us this will be much more than buying cheap Grocery Buyers, our measure of success will be delivering solutions that Mission Foods can directly relate to sales growth in the real world.”

This latest acquisition to a growing client base firmly establishes MediaCom as the fastest growing media Agency in Australia. This continues the momentum after a great 2010 which delivered new business in excess of $150m across a number of clients including, Danone, Nutricia, Macquarie and ARN and adds to an already strong start to 2011 which has already seen the win of the $6m Electronic Arts business.

The appointment commences April 2011.
