Mercerbell’s Julie Dormand resurfaces at The Works

Julie Dormand has been appointed as managing partner at Capgemini’s The Works on a contract basis, as part of maternity cover as both managing partner, Kristie Thistlethwaite, and GM – people & operations Jasmine Lansdell go on maternity leave in December.

Dormand was previously CEO at Mercerbell, having departed the agency in February this year following the merger of Performics and Mercerbell into Performics Mercerbell. Since then, Dormand has been doing consulting gigs.

Returning to The Works from her own maternity leave is managing partner Ruth Haffenden, who Dormand is joining on the leadership team alongside founder and creative partner Damian Pincus as well as partner Douglas Nicol.

Dormand’s remit will include leading agency operations, people and key clients, as as well as drive the 2022 business plan initiatives.

On the appointment, Pincus said: “t would be an understatement to say The Works team are excited to be bringing on board such a well renowned and respected industry leader like Jules. Jules will play an instrumental part in fulfilling our significant ambitions for 2022. Having led Australia’s first CX agency, Jules certainly has extensive expertise providing first-class customer engagement strategies, which will stand us in good stead with our clients.”

Lansdell and Thistlethwaite were promoted to their current roles in June of this year.

In terms of other staff changes, Iggy Rodriguez joined from R/GA California as creative partner last month, and Katie Harper was appointed as head of production.
