Previously, Hogg spent five years at Fallon in London.

Hogg said he looked forward to working with Emotive’s “creatively ambitious clients”.

“It’s great to be joining the Emotive family. Simon’s filled the place with talented people who all share my enthusiasm for ideas. They’ve been making adventurous, effective communication for an enviable bunch of creatively ambitious clients. And they’re on the beach at Tamarama, which doesn’t hurt. I look forward to helping our clients strengthen and grow their brands, and to building on the incredible momentum the agency has,” Hogg said.

Simon Joyce, Emotive CEO and founder, said Hogg’s appointment marked the next step in the agency’s ongoing evolution.

“We’re beyond thrilled to have Michael come on board. His appointment represents another big step in the ongoing evolution of Emotive and our mission to assemble Australia’s most diverse team of specialised talent,” Joyce said.

“His strategic leadership, expertise and understanding of the market are truly unparalleled and he will be instrumental in the continued expansion of Emotive’s strategic offering, broadening beyond world-class content and campaigns, and into working with clients to develop long-term brand positioning. Just as importantly, he’s a great guy and his leadership will add significantly to the development of our creative culture – which is the single most important factor for our continued success.”

Hogg will commence his new position on 13 January 2020.

Hogg’s appointment follows the addition of Ben Clare as group creative director in May.

Emotive is owned by Here, There and Everywhere (HR&E), which also owns Australian Radio Network (ARN) and iHeartRadio.
