Monday night TV dominated by news as Seven wins the night

Seven has won the Monday night ratings battle with an overall audience share of 20.3% as viewers stuck with news programs.

Seven News/Today Tonight, airing at 6.30pm, was the most watched program of the evening attracting 972,000 metro viewers, according to OzTAM’s overnight metro ratings.

Nine News at 6.30pm managed 874,000 metro viewers while the 6pm news also saw Seven come out on top with an audience of 965,000 compared to Nine News’ 888,000.

Nine came in second for the evening with an overall audience share of 15.3% with Nine News as its most watched program.

Family Food Fight, which aired on Nine at 7.30pm, saw 493,000 viewers tune in and was the 15th most watched program for the evening.

Comparatively, Seven’s The Wall obtained a metro audience of 687,000 in the same timeslot.

At 8.30pm, Ten’s Have You Been Paying Attention? was the most watched program across key advertising demographics 16-39, 18-49 and 25-54 securing 633,000 viewers.

Ten managed to attract 11.8% of viewers which saw it beaten by ABC’s audience share of 16.9%.

Meanwhile, SBS attracted a 4.8% audience share.
