An anti-Airbnb group released a new advertisement Monday in an effort to dispel the idea that the short-term rental service helps “regular” people.

The satirical ad (above) is airing in New York City, as well as online nationwide in cities where ShareBetter believes “illegal hotels” are looking to expand.

Airbnb has also said it is against illegal hotels, and continues to promote the ability of the service to provide supplemental income to people who rent out their homes. Airbnb has criticized ShareBetter as being funded by the hotel lobby.

The Wall Street Journal: Marketers Say They Would Spend Even More on Digital Ads If Measurement Improved

Digital ad dollars are on the rise. And so are marketers’ questions about what’s working.

One major point of frustration for marketers in the digital age: measurement. According to a new study by WPP agency Millward Brown Digital, more than 70% of marketing executives polled said they would increase their spending on mobile, digital and social platforms if there were better ways to measure return on investment. The survey, conducted this spring, is based on responses of roughly 400 senior marketing executives at agencies, media companies and brand marketers.

There was an especially sharp increase in respondents’ desire for improved measurement for social media compared with last year’s findings. Millward Brown Digital’s most recent study found that 74% of respondents would invest more in social media if better ROI metrics existed, up from 50% in 2014.

The New York Times: Egypt Warns Journalists Over Coverage of Militant Attacks

To the list of urgent threats facing Egypt, including militants behind assassinations and car bombings, Egyptian officials have warned of another danger in recent days: journalism, or at least the kind of reporting that strays from the government line.

President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi likened some “media and methods of communication” on Saturday to a “fourth generation of warfare, and even fifth,” and the foreign ministry tried to steer journalists toward the usage of its preferred terms for militant groups, including “terrorists,” “destroyers” and “slayers.”

The most sweeping measure came from the cabinet, which included a provision in a draft antiterrorism bill that threatens at least two years in prison for those who contradict official figures, such as death tolls, when reporting on militant attacks.

AdAge: Chevy Trash-Talks Ford’s Aluminum Trucks in New Effort

The battle between the Ford F-150 and Chevrolet Silverado is headed for a cage match.

Chevrolet is escalating the always-hot pickup wars this week with a social media campaign that takes a swipe at Ford’s aluminum-body F-150. In a commercial created by McCann Worldgroup’s Commonwealth agency and slated for online and possible TV play, focus-group members are asked which cage they would use for refuge when a grizzly bear lumbers into the room: one made of aluminum or another made of high-strength steel. Most scurry wide-eyed to the steel cage.
