Moshtix launches mobile tickets

Ticket operator Moshtix has unveiled its new mobile site – allowing consumers to receive, and use, tickets on their mobile phones.

The announcement:

The general manager of Moshtix, Adam McArthur today announced the launch of the company’s new mobile site which will feature event ticket delivery by mobile barcode.

The new, easy-to-use mobile optimised site, which can be found by typing moshtix.com.au into any internet enabled mobile handset, will give ticket buyers the ability to have their Moshtix purchased tickets scanned straight from their mobile when arriving at a venue.

In addition, the site has implemented PayPal purchasing capabilities allowing users to buy tickets securely using their PayPal account on their mobile.

Other key mobile site features include:

– The integration of links to activate Google Maps that provides directions on how to get to particular venues.

– Sharing Moshtix events with friends through facebook and twitter

– Forwarding tickets to friends from your handset

For ease of access, after a ticket buyer purchases tickets to an event, they get sent an SMS that links straight to their mobile barcode ticket.

Mr McArthur said that he was pleased to provide Australian ticket buyers with an easier way to purchase tickets to an event.

“We have had this capability for some time now, but with the growth of smart phones we are now able to launch a complete mobile ticketing solution. This is something our customers have been asking for and we are proud to be leading the ticketing market in Australia with this innovation.

“Mobile barcode ticketing eliminates the need for paper tickets so also becomes the environmentally friendly option when purchasing tickets.”

Of the integration of PayPal into the new Moshtix mobile site, Mr McArthur said: “Offering our mobile ticket purchasers the option to pay via PayPal’s secure payment gateway provides a safe and convenient solution to our smart phone users.

“PayPal enables quick and easy transactions in addition to eliminating safety concerns and hesitations about providing credit card details into a user’s mobile handset. Users simply log onto PayPal and choose their preferred payment source; there is no longer any requirement to enter masses of sensitive data via their mobile device.”

Users can still enjoy the great personalised Moshtix website experience by searching for events by state and can easily contact Moshtix at the touch of a ‘Call Moshtix’ and ‘Email Moshtix’ button.

After purchasing a ticket through moshtix.com.au on the mobile, a user’s barcoded ticket is stored in their Moshtix account for easy access. When purchasing multiple tickets, users also have the option to send individual tickets to friends.

Mr McArthur concluded: “We are thrilled to be re-launching our mobile site to offer users more flexibility when purchasing tickets and during the event entry process. The new site makes it easier for friends to plan a night out with social media sharing tools and the ability to forward mobile barcoded tickets to others.”
