The first Mumbrella conference to return as a physical event since the Mumbrella Travel Marketing Summit in March last year features 14 sessions led by local industry leaders and will take place on 27 May at Doltone House, Darling Island Wharf, in Sydney.

In the newly announced sessions, Holmes and Lowe will share how brands can use emotion to earn a place in people’s lives.

The pair will assert that it’s about being more human and will show how they and their agency use their creative expertise in publicity, social, content, influencer, events and paid media amplification to move people enough that they’re willing to invest their time, attention or even their love into one brand over another.

Holmes and Lowe will speak through a number of case studies including bringing the worlds of gaming and music together by creating a new track by Tash Sultana for PlayStation and getting a Russian to meddle in the New Zealand election to get a record number of overseas Kiwis voting.

Meanwhile, Clarke, who is PwC’s The Difference director, and Hamer, the company’s Future of Work lead, will discuss how communications can foster collaboration virtually.

Drawing lessons from the worlds of culture, behavioural economics and entertainment, this session will discuss how communications professionals can make the most of our new reality to help teams connect, collaborate and create.

In particular, the pair will share how to co-create with audiences and why it matters, how to capture attention while workloads (and meetings) continue to increase and how to design the right conditions for collaboration and creativity.

Holmes, Lowe, Clarke and Hamer join a program that is already filled with leading experts in the communications and PR industry including Sefiani’s Robyn Sefiani, Magnum & Co’s Carl Ratcliffe, Adobe’s Pauline Linton, Volkswagen’s Kurt McGuiness, Bloom the Chemist’s Annette Williams and many more.

Mumbrella CommsCon takes place on 27 May with tickets available now. It will be followed in the evening by the Mumbrella CommsCon Awards gala dinner.
