Of course when Crerar Tweeted it this afternoon, Viner realised the folly of her ways:

3:59pm – So yesterday Dr Mumbo mentioned the videos doing the rounds from Fifi Box and then Kyle and Jackie O. Unsurprisingly Fitzy & Wippa over at Nova have got in on the party as well with an important set of messages all of their own:

2:50pm – Here’s the latest campaign for NAB from Clemenger BBDO Melbourne which is all about the bank trying to ‘footify’ Australia as part of its sponsorship of the AFL.

1.20pm – The final parts of our week long piracy special are up and we have new research on the piracy risk to brands and also a call for the networks to open their schedules to local producers.

1.05pm – Celebrity vet Dr Katrina Warren has launched a YouTube pet channel. Read about it here.

12:23pm – ABC boss Mark Scott has picked up on the news his company has been named the most attractive employer in Australia (see 8:35am). However, he wanted to clear up what that means:

10:38am – TV ratings are in, and as usual Thursday was a somewhat subdued night for TV audiences. However, ABC1 will be celebrating having a strong lineup as The Checkout and Janet King both lifted and won their timeslots, while So You Tink You Can Dance on Ten also saw a welcome boost in audiences, giving the channel a double-digit audience share.

9:59am – Some breaking pitch news, as SPC Ardmona has moved its media account from incumbent Ikon to independent strategy agency Slingshot after a competitive pitch.

9:26am – Thursday night is of course The Checkout night, and the crew had fun taking aim at online dating sites, and some allegedly dodgy practices they pursue. Check out the segment below:

8:45am – It’s fair to say yesterday’s comment piece from Foxtel’s Bruce Meagher about piracy, and why the broadcaster is airingGame of Thrones as it is, has caused a lot of commentary. Not only has it generated more than 100 comments on Mumbrella, but it’s also been reproduced across many other sites, including Gizmodo, Life Hacker and Business Insider.

8:35am – The results are in and the most attractive employer to work for of 2014 is…..(drum roll please) The ABC. Media is the fourth most attractive industry to work in in Australia according to the Randstad survey, after Aviation, FMCG and mining. Yes, going to work in a  hole is better than working in media.

8:26am – Around the papers this morning there’s a bit of coverage of the Network Ten financial results we covered off yesterday, including this piece in the Sydney Morning Herald with fund managers saying their shares shouldn’t be written off just yet.

8:15am – Happy Friday people. We’ll start with an apology in the Australian Financial review’s Rear Window column, which garnered the antipathy of its readers by misspelling the Scottish derivative of Whisky. For those of you who cannot see behind the paywall, we’ll summate the best line from columnist Will Glasgow:

Reader three: “How could anyone called Will GLASGOW spell whisky with an “e” as in whiskey. Scotch is always spelt with without an “e”. Clause 18C anyone?” Dear readers, we apologise.
