Apple’s same-sex marriage campaign wins Mumbrella’s Ad of the Month for February
Mumbrella's new Ad of the Month initiative has its first winner, with the industry choosing between Subaru, Apple, Qantas, NAB, Lord of the Fries and American Express.
Winning Ad of the Month for February is Apple Australia’s iPhone X advertising campaign which features the celebrations of newly married same-sex couples.
Mumbrella understands the campaign was created by TBWA.
58% of respondents voted for Apple Australia with voters labelling the ad as “genuinely emotive”, “memorable”, “brave” and “unique”.
“A powerful message, beautifully executed – but it’s also a compelling product demonstration,” said one voter.
“It’s timely — a bold statement for a huge brand — and beautifully put together,” said another.
“Cumulation of authentic images – the bush wedding, the classic song, happy families avoiding cliches with new voices and important ideas. Felt like that moment when a rain storm breaks a drought. And that phone was handy and relevant,” a Mumbrella reader wrote.
