New Romans hires Tim Mahony to lead government relations

Content, PR and entertainment agency, New Romans, has hired Tim Mahony to lead its government relations practice.

Mahony was once the general manager of government at Tourism Australia and was most recently at the Australian Energy Regulator as head of strategic communications.

Tim Mahony spent seven years at Tourism Australia

Mahony is the latest addition to the growing New Romans team. Last year, Anthony Spargo joined as managing partner, and former GE corporate communications lead, Louisa Walsh, is now leading the project management team.

Spargo said Mahony’s experience made him perfect for the role.

“Tim has a wealth of experience in government relations and is someone we’ve known and respected for a long time. He is the perfect person to lead our growth in this area across major public sector projects and also in providing corporate government relations support,” he said.

“It’s a key area of our offering and expertise and Tim is ideal to lead it for us as we continue to grow and support new clients in the space.”

New Romans has offices in Sydney, Melbourne and Singapore. Mahony will be based in Sydney.
