New York-based CEO and all-star female CMO panel confirmed for Mumbrella360

More big names have been locked in for Mumbrella360 2024.

New York-based April Siler, Rêveuse’s chief executive officer and former professional athlete, is set to fly in to Sydney and will speak on why marketers make top-tier CEOs, while recently appointed CMO at The Iconic, Joanna Robinson, will feature on an all-star CMO panel on empowering women in the industry.

Following the news that former Nike CMO Greg Hoffman will be headlining the event, Mumbrella can reveal that Mumbrella360 will be delving deeper into the realities faced by women in the industry.

‘What Does it Take to Empower Women in Media and Marketing? Find out from these CMOs’ will offer an exceptional lineup of women who have contributed to the marketing and media industry through years of leadership and creative thinking.

(L-R): Cummins, Robinson, Dent

The panel consists of the chief marketing officers of World Vision Australia, Bluescope and The Iconic – Louise Cummins, Lisa Dent and Joanna Robinson.

An experienced speaker, and outside of her work with the Australian branch of World Vision, Cummins is a founder of The Inner Circle Network CMO Women’s Event Series – an initiative aimed at supporting female-led charities and leaders.

Meanwhile, with more than 25 years’ experience in sales and marketing, Dent’s expertise in marketing strategy has seen her work across various industries, including construction, retail and more.

Recently appointed Robinson has a background in leadership, sales and marketing at numerous companies, such as Chatime and Colgate. She has also worked abroad in marketing managerial roles at Unilever and Estée Lauder in Dubai. In addition, she works as a sessional lecturer at the University of Sydney.

Moderated by The Works’ managing director, Julie Dormand, the panel will pull back the curtain on the female experience in an industry where, despite efforts to eliminate them, sexism and discrimination is still prevalent.

Robinson, Cummins and Dent will discuss the mountains they’ve had to climb throughout their careers, and the methods they used to overcome them and become effective C-suite leaders.

Meanwhile, April Siler, Rêveuse’s chief executive officer and former professional athlete, will lead a session titled ‘Why Marketers Make the Best CEO’s’ – an insightful discussion that argues that CMOs – experienced individuals who see the value in strategic growth via content and culture – make the best company leaders.
