Nexus MG rebrands Sponsorship Rights as Sponsorship Mag

Nexus MG’s Sponsorship rights magazine has undergone a revamp  – including a title change to Sponsorship Mag.

The announcement:

9 December 2010, Brisbane – A major revamp of Sponsorship Rights magazine, Australia’s pre-eminent print and online publication for the sponsorship sector, will see it hit 2011 with greater frequency, enhanced content and a new name.

From its first edition in January 2011 Nexus MG’s quarterly title will publish bi-monthly under its new masthead – “Sponsorship Mag”.

The editorial content of the print offering will be bolstered significantly to include more news and in-depth articles on the sponsorship industry both in Australia and overseas. It will also include an increased number of case studies from rights holders, agencies and brands plus latest trends and special reports.

The magazine, which launched to great acclaim in early 2010, will continue to cover every inch of the sponsorship landscape with special investigations on: sports, entertainment, branded content, CSR, community, music and arts, festivals and events, partnership activation, the global market as well as insight and views.

The net of regular contributors will be cast wider to include more seasoned media and marketing journalists and notable figures within the industry. The beefed up, full version of Sponsorship Mag will run to at least 100 pages per issue and be direct mailed to a growing subscriber database. As in 2010, a 40 page cut-down version will be sent out quarterly as a supplement in established B2B titles – B&T, Professional Marketing and the Marketing Mag.

The magazine will reach more than 100,000 readers per edition.

The print offering will be complemented by an upgraded full service news and information website – www.sponsorshipmag.com <http://www.sponsorshipmag.com> which is free to subscribe for regular updates.

For just $199 per annum magazine subscribers will receive six print editions and have full access to all online content, including archived special reports, news and features.

Nexus MG director and Sponsorship Mag publisher Luke Jenkinson said the revamp came in response to the overwhelmingly positive reception the magazine received from the market in its inaugural year.

“We knew there was a gap in the market for a magazine to cater for the burgeoning sponsorship sector and so we trialled a seasonal publication as a supplement into established publications such as Marketing Magazine and B&T,” Mr Jenkinson said.

“The market just lapped it up and we are very pleased to re-launch a bigger and better offering in what represents a fast tracking of our development phase. Our goal is to eventually make Sponsorship Mag a monthly publication.”

In its first year the magazine examined the Australian sponsorship industry from every angle with exclusive features on MasterChef, Vodafone & The Ashes, Rugby World Cup 2011, FIFA World Cup, Commonwealth Games 2010, Stadium Naming Rights and case studies on the likes of the Australian Open Golf, Australian Open tennis, AFL and Netball Australia.

“Sponsorship Mag offers unprecedented insight into the sponsorship industry,” Mr Jenkinson said.

“Regardless of which part of the industry you are in, Sponsorship Mag is an essential tool for your business.”

Due to its unique and specialised content and greater reach and frequency, the magazine will be an even better platform for rights holders to advertise across in 2011.

“It reaches decision-makers and influencers of brands and companies that are always seeking opportunities to align their brands,” Mr Jenkinson said.

“The magazine provides a clear platform to tell a great story of what advertisers have to offer to mass audiences. It’s also a great lead generation tool. The magazine has already led to several key sponsorships being brokered so far.”

In its first year the magazine sold more than $80,000 in advertising in just four editions. Its clients included the City of Melbourne, Holden Racing Team, Western Bulldogs AFL, Gold Coast Titans NRL, North Qld Cowboys NRL, Taronga Zoo, the Leukaemia Foundation, Victoria Cricket, Athletics Australia and Australian Capital Tourism amid many others.

“We look forward to welcoming many more advertisers on board in 2011”, Mr Jenkinson said.
