Nine invites Hamish & Andy fans to send them a postcard while they’re in New York
Nine is using free postcards as a way for fans of Hamish and Andy to get in touch with the duo while they’re in New York for their upcoming show, Hamish & Andy’s Gap Year.
The idea is that a fan’s message on the postcard will be read out on the show.
Around 50,000 pre-addressed cards, created by Avant Card, will be distributed cafes, universities and high schools on the East Coast.
The postcard teaser will run in support of the Hamish & Andy talk show on 104.1 2Day FM and a 15 second radio spot on the Austereo network.
Hamish & Andy’s Gap Year debuts on Nine on July 28.
Last week, Avant Card announced plans to print QR codes on all of its inventory to better integrate the medium with digital channels.
On the East coast only? Bastards, enough to make me NOT watch (almost). Seriously though, WTF.

I know the media cost would be so much more but the response rate would be atleast 3/4 times more if they came pre-franked. Not attach stamp here. DM 101

What’s a Poscard? You may want to change the headline.

Ta, JDB – sorted…
Nice idea, but is anyone really going to do this? I would have thought a digital solution would have been better.

I quite like the idea. Its getting people actually engage in the show. @dave there is something much richer in sending an actual postcard, than just an ecard or the like, no?
