Nine wins ratings week and edges ahead in yearly network battle

The good news for Nine keeps rolling in, with the primary channel taking a winning 21.4% share for the week (Sunday to Saturday).

The network, including multi-channels, also had a winning 32.2% share for the week. And in the yearly battle, the Nine Network edged ahead of Seven Network with a 29.7% share for the survey year to date.

The yearly ratings battle has a new leader

Seven Network is only just behind on 29.6% for the survey weeks so far, while Network Ten sits on 16.7%, ahead of ABC’s 16.4%, and SBS’ 7.6%.

The most-watched multi-channel for the week was Nine’s Gem, which had an average share of 5.8%. Its share throughout the last week climbed as high as 9.4% on Saturday night, thanks largely to its screening of The Ashes test.

The most-watched show for the week was Sunday night’s The Block. The same episode also topped the key advertising demographics of those aged 16 to 39 and 25 to 54 for the week.

The following graphic was compiled by Nine, based on OzTAM data. It excludes ABC and SBS viewing, meaning percentage numbers will not match the numbers referred to above.
