Nine’s Today show to be available to Optus mobile customers
Optus and the Nine Network have announced a sponsorship deal that will see the telco provide its customers with access to free and exclusive content from the Today show on their 3G mobiles.
Content will include live streaming of the breakfast show from 5.30am on weekdays and 7am on Saturdays and Sundays, as well as access to catch up TV.
Aimee Buchanan, MPG client services director working on the Optus account, said: “MPG saw the Today show as a great strategic media partnership for Optus, in that it enabled us to showcase Optus’ content capabilities by taking a known property and deliver this content to customers through a new platform.”
Austin R. Bryan, Optus Consumer marketing director, added it is aimed at people on their way to work, school or an appointment who want to continue watching the program on their mobiles while on the bus or train, or accessing catch up TV later in the day.

Cheers – to all involved on getting the infrastructure up and running, which would have been a massive effort.
Jeers – to the person sitting next to me watching Richard Reid’s hollywood gossip segment on the way to work.
