Nova Adelaide general manager Neil O’Reilly to leave in restructure

Neil O’Reilly, the general manager of Nova Entertainment’s Adelaide operation, will depart in June as the result of a restructure.

The radio network said the reorganisation of its Adelaide operations was “designed to ensure that the specific needs of each of the local stations’ clients and audiences are met”.

O’Reilly was appointed GM in 2015

As part of the restructure, current FIVEaa program director Craig Munn has been promoted to station manager. Current sales director Katie Bridges has also taken on the new role of commercial director and market lead.

CEO of Nova Entertainment, Cathy O’Connor, paid tribute to O’Reilly’s contribution.

“Neil has made a strong contribution to our Adelaide stations and has been passionate about local listeners and local advertisers. We wish him the best as [he] moves on to the next stage of his career.”

O’Reilly added: “I’ve had nothing but great experiences as leader of these two iconic Adelaide radio brands and I’m looking forward to a new challenge. Both Katie and Craig are well qualified to lead this next era of Nova Entertainment in Adelaide.”

O’Reilly was promoted to GM of Adelaide at Nova Entertainment in August 2015, after joining the company as financial controller in August 2009.

In the most recent GfK radio ratings survey, FIVEaa had an overall market share of 10.5%, down 0.3 percentage points from the first survey of 2018. Nova 91.9 had 9.8% of the audience – up 0.2 percentage points – placing both stations behind market leader ARN’s Mix 102.3, which sits on 15.3%.

It is not clear if O’Reilly’s role will be directly replaced.
