‘Oh the places you’ll go!’: Dr Seuss helps Qantas launch credit card

Qantas has launched its own credit card with inspiration from Dr Seuss’ poem ‘Oh the places you’ll go.’

The ad features a poem, which explains to consumers how far everyday spending with Qantas’ Premier credit card can take Qantas Frequent Flyers.

A voiceover says: “There are points to be scored, you’ll be seeing greats sights, you’ll join the high flyers, you’ll soar to new heights.”

The new work was made by With Collective.

Stephanie Tully, Qantas chief marketing officer, said the poem was a “good fit” for the launch, as it communicated the final rewards of the card.

“We wanted to support the launch of the Qantas Premier credit card with a campaign that showed just how far everyday spend on the card would take you and the ‘Oh the places you’ll go!’ poem was such a good fit as it clearly communicates the end rewards of using the card.”

“There is such a strong emotional connection with the Qantas brand and given credit card spend, by nature, is transactional, this campaign has given us a platform to connect those two things and show people all the places they can go with their bonus Qantas Points upon sign up and the points they build when they use their card every day,” she said.

The campaign will run across digital, in airports and on TV from July.
