Older lady gets small moment of joy from dating app in Vodafone campaign via Team Red

WPP’s bespoke agency Team Red has launched its latest work for Vodafone, which captures the moments of joy that occur when interacting with your phone.

The first of the ads shows an elderly woman reacting enthusiastically to something on her phone, which is then revealed to be a dating app.

“That feeling right there…. get that feeling,” says the voiceover, implying that Vodafone’s no lock-in contracts will give consumers similar amounts of joy and satisfaction.

A second ad shows a rideshare driver laughing with his elaborately costumed passengers.

In March 2017, Vodafone returned its account to WPP, which created a bespoke agency for the business Team Red.

Last week, Mumbrella reported that former managing director of Team Red, Carmel Williamson, had filed a lawsuit against WPP alleging harassment and unlawful dismissal. Court documents from both Williamson and WPP allude to tensions between the bespoke agency and Vodafone.

Last December, Vodafone launched a campaign starring disgraced Australian Cricketer Steve Smith, reflecting on his life after the ball-tampering scandal.

Mumbrella has contacted WPP and Vodafone for further comment.
