OMD loses Origin as ad and media pitches continue

Origin has narrowed the shortlist on its simultaneous advertising and media pitches, with incumbent OMD among those knocked out of contention.

While the value of the energy company’s account is only around $6m, the decision to rule OMD out of the running for the media ccount will come as a blow to the agency which in recent years has been virtually100% successful at defending its local clients. The fight is now between Universal McCann and Starcom, with Ikon also knocked out of the running.

Meanwhile, five year incumbent The Campaign Palace and DDB have passed through to the next round of the creative pitch with Badjar Ogilvy and Clemenger BBDO eliminated.

Origin said that the reviews were part of standard corporate governance procedure, adding: “We were impressed by the high calibre of work and the quality of responses by all creative and media agencies.”
