Ooh Media becomes official OOH partner for Sydney Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras

Ooh Media has become the official Out of Home media partner for the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras and Sydney World Pride 2023 after signing an exclusive three-year partnership.

The agreement comes as Ooh prepares to launch an expanded diversity and inclusion strategy that further recognises the value and importance of difference across the organisation.

Working with the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras and Sydney World Pride 2023 – which is tipped to be the largest event held in the city since the 2000 Olympic Games and a first for the southern hemisphere – Ooh will promote these events as they celebrate the LGBTQIA+ communities.

The first campaign for Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras and its more than 60 events will run across Ooh’s digital network in key Sydney suburbs from today. Promotion for Sydney World Pride 2023, which is being held in place of the Mardi Gras next year, will begin shortly after.

Ooh chief people and culture officer, Raechel Gavin, said: “Our people are the foundation of Ooh and the drivers of its continued success. We are ensuring diversity and inclusion is not just celebrated but encouraged and our employees work in an environment where they can share ideas and be their full selves each day.

“The Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras is an institution and with Sydney World Pride 2023, the eyes of the world will be on the harbour city. We are strongly aligned with its mission and are proud to be the official Out of Home Media partner for the next three years.”

Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras CEO, Albert Kruger added: “Mardi Gras’ history has been stamped into our nation’s collective conscience through ground-breaking visuals across different mediums – art, video, costumery and performance. We are delighted to partner with Ooh Media who are innovative leaders in the Out of Home space to amplify our message of diversity, inclusion and celebration around Australia.”

Sydney World Pride CEO Kate Wickett added: “Sydney World Pride 2023 will be the biggest event Sydney has hosted since the 2000 Olympics. We are thrilled to have Ooh on board as partner to help showcase our amazing festival of celebration, creativity, and inclusion, as we welcome people from around the world to Sydney.”

The 2021 Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras parade takes place at the Sydney Cricket Ground on 5 March.
