Morris Media appoints Katrina Holden as editor of Vacations and Travel magazine

Specialist tourism and travel publisher Morris Media has appointed Katrina Holden as its editor of Vacations and Travel.

Holden replaces editor-in-chief, Helen Hayes, and will work across both the quarterly print title and on the digital side of the business. In her new role, she will be responsible for mapping out Vacations and Travel’s editorial direction.

The editor has worked in publishing and communications since 1996, and has previously held positions at publications including Luxury Travel magazine, Travel Monitor, Drinks magazine and National Liquor News.

She has also spent time as a freelance writer, with articles published in Travel & Indulgence, Delicious magazine, James Halliday’s Wine Companion magazine, Out & About with Kids, Holidays with Kids, Wine Business Monthly and Meininger’s Wine Business International.

“Vacations and Travel has long enjoyed a reputation as a quality publication for Australian travellers,” said Holden. “I’m looking forward to continuing the title’s high editorial standards for our readers across print and digital, as well as bringing some fresh new perspectives and ideas to the team.”

Holden joins the company during a restructure of the editorial and sales teams, with the recent appointment of a publisher Adam Davy, along with a relaunched Vacations and Travel website.

Davy joined Morris Media from Universal Media, where he was national sales manager for the past 10 months.
