Outdoor feels the heat on booze
Australia’s outdoor industry is the latest to feel the heat from the anti-advertising lobby, with criticism of the siting of alcohol posters close to schools. A study by the NSW Centre for Overweight and Obesity suggests that alcoholic products are the single most advertised products near primary schools.
However, the Outdoor Media Association says it will have a new policy in place for all of its members by March 31, which will rule out the advertising of alcohol products within 150 metre line of site of schools.
