Pacific launches new monthly title devoted to the Royal family, New Idea Royals

Following the success of New Idea’s Royals mini magazine, Pacific is launching a new monthly title, New Idea Royals.

The title will be edited by New Idea deputy editor Rebecca Hyde and will complete New Idea’s suite of royal content, including the New Idea Royals Podcast, an online vertical and the Facebook page, New Idea Royals.

New Idea Royals, on sale from July 11 in supermarkets and newsagencies, will contain 100% royal content, from news to fashion and everything in between, according to the publisher. The title will include contributions from New Idea’s long-time royal expert Angela Mollard, UK-based Phil Dampier, London-based Kietley Isrin and Pacific entertainment editor Zoe Burrell.

Pacific’s group content and brand director, Louisa Hatfield, said the publisher is confident the new title will be popular with New Idea’s pre-existing royal readership.

“Our readers can’t get enough of New Idea’s royal coverage, so it makes absolute sense to launch a regular monthly title that meets this demand. New Idea is the undisputed number one brand for royal content generating a deep loyalty from readers and New Idea Royals is set to attract this same loyal following.”

Pacific has reported a large demand for royal content, with the podcast attracting 33,000 listeners per episode and a 2m person reach for the New Idea Royals Facebook page.

The publisher has previously tapped into loyal followers of the British royal family with a Royal Wedding New Idea one-shot, which reported a 35% increase in newsstand sales.

New Idea Royals will launch with a campaign across Seven West Media including a TVC and a promotion in New Idea.
