Pedestrian Group appoints first chief commercial officer

Pedestrian Group has elevated Rachel Tikey to the newly created role of chief commercial officer as the Nine-owned youth publishing group locks in plans for the launch of a number of new products. She will commence in the new role effective immediately.

Tikey first joined the publisher in 2017, most recently heading up the group’s national strategy, sales, projects and ad operations teams as a commercial director since January 2020.

The new role will oversee the launch of a number of new products in development with Nine, including Pedestrian’s newly launched Web-3 focused publication, The Chainsaw.

Pedestrian Group’s CEO, Matt Rowley said: “If you’ve worked with Rachel in any capacity you will know what a commercial force she is. She has a gift for figuring out how different people can work together productively, crafting the most talented team in the industry. Rachel is the perfect person to commercially lead Pedestrian Group through its next set of opportunities and evolution as a business.”

Rachel Tikey said of her promotion: “I love Pedestrian Group and feel incredibly fortunate to work alongside the talented minds in this business. It is a privilege to take this next step in my career with brands that inform and entertain young Aussies like no other.”

Alongside her role at Pedestrian, Tikey is also a non-executive director for UNLTD’s Little Colossus, and has previously held roles at Pandora, ARN and SCA.
