Perth radio ratings: SCA’s Mix 94.5 on top as it regains drive-time crown from Nova

Southern Cross Austereo’s Mix 94.5 is on top in the Perth radio market, with the second survey of the year giving the station a 15.6% audience share, ahead of Nova 93.7’s 12.0% and SCA’s other offering Hit 92.9, which had 10.7%.

Mix 94.5 also won the drive-time battle by remaining steady on 15.9%. Nova, which in survey one had the largest audience share of any drive-time show in the country with 16.0%, fell 1.6 share points to 14.4%. 

The Mix 94.5 drive slot is made up of two programs, Lisa and Pete Curulli from 3pm to 5pm, followed by Jane Kennedy and Mick Molloy – who are syndicated on SCA’s Triple M network – from 5pm to 7pm. 

Nova syndicates its Kate, Tim and Marty drive-time show, while SCA’s hit network has Carrie Bickmore and Tommy Little until 4:30pm, followed by former ARN hosts Dave Hughes and Kate Langbroek.

Mix also won breakfast, with Dean Clairs, Kymba Cahill and Matt Dyktynski (Clairsy, Matt & Kymba) taking out the time-slot. The trio had a 15.0% audience share, down slightly from last survey’s 15.0%. 

Once again, Nova 93.7’s Nathan Morris, Natalie Locke and Shaun McManus (Nathan, Nat & Shaun) were in second place – down 0.9 share points to 13.9%.

Hit 92.9 with Heidi Anderson, Xavier Ellis and Ryan Jon took out third position in Perth breakfast, with a 10.9% audience share, up from 10.4% last survey.

On the AM dial, ABC Perth dominated, with an 8.0% overall audience share. The station lost 0.6 audience share points in breakfast from last survey, down to 10.8%, but climbed 0.6 points in drive to a 5.7% audience share.

The second GfK radio ratings survey ran from 11 February to 3 March, and 11 March to 14 April.
