Pink signs as V8 Supercars ambassador in multi-million dollar deal

V8 Supercars Australia has launched a new TV ad featuring Pink as part of a three-year multi-million dollar deal with the US pop singer.

The commercial, which was filmed in Sydney during Pink’s 2009 Funhouse Tour, features the signer with well known V8 Supercar drivers including Jamie Whincup, Will Davison, Fabian Coulthard and James Courtney.

The Greatest Show on Wheels campaign, created by George Patterson Y&R, claims to be “one of the largest advertising productions undertaken in Australian sport”.

The ad was directed by Dave Meyers, who has also directed music clips for singers including Jennifer Lopez, Britney Spears, Janet Jackson and Aerosmith.

Tony Cochrane, V8 Supercars executive chairman, said: “So why Pink? She’s not afraid to be different. She’s bold, she’s outspoken and she’s unapologetic… For all those reasons V8 Supercars and Pink are the perfect DNA.”

Russel Howcroft, GP Y&R national CEO, added the campaign aims to position the V8 Supercars brand as the “most entertaining sport in Australia”.
