Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales earns $5.885m over the weekend

Walt Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales has topped the weekend box office in its first weekend release, earning $5.885m, according to weekend box office figures from the Motion Picture Distributors Association of Australia.

The fifth Pirates of the Caribbean beat King Arthur: Legend of the Sword from its top spot, which pulled $1.071m across 272 screens, taking its total earnings to $4.158m.

Walt Disney’s Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2 fell one spot to third, seeing $1.014m brining its total to $30.978m for its fifth week in cinemas.

John Wick: Chapter Two stayed in its fourth place for its second week, earning $860,872 this weekend.
