Pizza Hut appoints The Wired Agency to social account

Pizza Hut has appointed The Wired Agency to manage its social media account.

Combined with The Wired’s existing remit for Pizza Hut, the addition of social media marketing makes Pizza Hut one of the agency’s largest accounts.

“The Wired Agency has recently delivered some of our strongest paid social campaigns. 2019 sees a year of digital transformation for Pizza Hut, with a new focus on social media,” said Pizza Hut Australia CEO, Phil Reid.

“Their team of specialists bring us expert knowledge plus the ‘heart’ we require for this next phase of growth for our much loved brand.”

Pizza Hut has faced stiff competition in recent years

With social media marketing as the agency’s fastest-growing service line, The Wired presented its strategy to Pizza Hut during a competitive half-day pitch process.

“Pizza Hut is such an iconic brand and holds so much untapped nostalgia among Aussies,” managing director of The Wired, Angela Hampton, said.

“We’re already seeing some remarkable results across the brand’s social channels and look forward to driving this further.”

The Wired also works with clients such as TEDxSydney, Assembly Label and Viking Cruises.

The announcement comes after last week’s release of the Senate’s franchising report. In the lead up to the parliamentary enquiry that prompted the report, Pizza Hut franchisees complained about being forced to sell pizzas at below cost. Up to 90% of franchisees took Pizza Hut to court for unconscionable conduct, eventually losing in the High Court.
