Powershop offers a day of free wind-powered energy to customers, in first campaign from White Grey

White Grey has created its first campaign work for energy company Powershop, giving away a day free power to its customers when it is sourced from wind farms.

When the wind farms are activated the campaign will go live, notifying customers of their ability to receive free power throughout the day. New customers are also able to switch providers to Powershop and receive the equivalent of a free day of power.

The campaign consists of a teaser, reveal and announcement video, creating a narrative of the Powershop wind power plant that has overloaded with energy and needs to give it away.

Chief customer officer of Powershop, Catherine Anderson, said: “We’re keen to try something out of the box that celebrates renewable generation while supporting our customers and their hip pockets. A day of free power is just one of the many initiatives we have, to put our customers first.”

Joe Hill and Garret Fitzgerald, executive creative directors at White Grey, said in a statement: “Free Power Mode is a great customer initiative by Powershop that celebrates renewable energy across Australia. To bring it to life this fun, tactical campaign can be deployed in response to the wind.”

White Grey was appointed earlier this year to launch Powershop into the South Australian market. The agency has also been managing the company’s performance media.

The campaign will include video, radio, outdoor, digital, social media and PR.
