Premiership trophy to be on display at Manchester United marketer lunch
The English Premier League Trophy will be making a guest appearance at a lunch hosted by Mumbrella and the Association of Data-Driven Marketing in a fortnight’s time.
The ADMA lunch will hear from Jonathan Rigby, head of marketing at Manchester United about the marketing of one of the world’s biggest brands.
Manchester United are currently the Premiership champions, and guests at the lunch will be able to have their photograph taken with the trophy if they wish.
Rigby will talk about the strategy behind the brand and how the soccer club is growing its fan base and engagement with its community of followers through the use of new technologies. Rigby will share his insights into the club’s data and digital strategy and how it uses television, social media and live events to bring players closer to fans.
He will be interviewed on stage by Mumbrella’s Tim Burrowes and take questions from the audience.
The lunch takes place at the Ivy in Sydney on Thursday July 18. There are now just eight tables and a handful of individual tickets remaining.
Rigby has been in the Manchester United role for three years. Prior to that, he worked at several of the UK’s best known advertising agencies including AMV BBDO, WCRS, Lowe and Draft FCB.
Rigby’s visit coincides with the clash between the Premier League champions and the A-League All Stars. Tickets for the game sold out within minutes of going on sale. However, there will be a final chance at the lunch to go into a draw to win two pairs of tickets to the game along with a signed Manchester United shirt.
Remaining tickets – which are likely to sell out in the next few days – are $125 for ADMA members and $175 for non-members, with group discounts available for a table of 10. Tickets can be booked via the ADMA website.
Will Liverpool’s European Cup also be on display? I mean the real one, not any of those replicas that the mancs have
