Qantas consolidates international buying account with OMD

Qantas has consolidated its international media buying account to just one agency, OMD.

OMD was appointed to the airline’s Australian media buying account in 2014 with the promise of a three year contract, that agreement has now been extended to the international account.

A spokesperson from Qantas said: “Qantas today announced that it will consolidate its media buying activities across its international markets with one agency partner.

“OMD Australia, who has managed the airline’s media buying in Australia since 2014, has been appointed to also manage Qantas’ media buying internationally.”

At the time of Qantas’ appointment, group executive of brand marketing and corporate affairs, Olivia Wirth, said: “We were impressed with OMD throughout the pitch processes and their strong alignment with Qantas’ future media planning and buying strategy.

“In OMD we have chosen the agency that provides us with the most comprehensive and innovative ideas to help drive the Qantas brand into the future.”

The appointment is effective from today with each market expected to transition over the new few months.
