R/GA senior hirings continue with fresh group director appointments

R/GA is continuing to add new senior leaders with the unveiling of more senior appointments for its Australian team.

The hirings consist of Ben Martin as group technology director, Kerry Peterson as group director for production, and Abigail Kwek as group strategy director.

Martin’s appointment sees him leave his role as director of frontend engineering at Deloitte Digital, where he’s been since August 2022. While there, he worked with several well-known brands, including Bunnings and Travel Money Oz.

Martin has also worked in technology and leadership roles at British retailer Tesco, Coles and Pwc in Australia and the United Kingdom.

Peterson joins R/GA from Merkle — Dentu’s customer experience management business. She began her stint there in June 2022 as a lead business analyst before becoming a delivery director in February 2024.

With 15 years of experience in business analysis and project management, Peterson’s career has seen her work at digital agency Igloo (which was merged with MCM Media in 2014 to become Authentic Entertainment), Isobar and Medibank.

Kwek’s most recent position was strategy director at TBWA in Melbourne. She’s also served as an APAC strategy lead at Hogarth, and a strategist at 72andSunny and TBWA’s Singapore office.

During her career, she’s worked with brands such as Spotify, Mastercard, Coles, Grab, Nissan and Telstra.

“We’re in a transformative moment, for our industry, for R/GA, and for our clients,” R/GA Australia’s managing director, Victoria Curro, said in a press release.

“Ben, Abigail, and Kerry bring a powerful mix of capability, craft and commercial acumen that will help us shape more innovative, connected, and human outcomes. Each of them represents the kind of talent we’re investing in for the future: deeply experienced, multidisciplinary, and built for what’s next.”

R/GA’s leadership team has been experiencing significant change in recent months.

Ben Yabsley and Prue Jones were appointed as national executive creative directors in July 2025, coinciding with the departure of former Australian chief creative officer, Seamus Higgins, who moved to London for personal reasons.

Higgins rejoined the agency in mid-2023 after freelancing in London for one year.

Earlier this year, in April, Guill Rodas was named chief technology officer for APAC. June also saw Melissa Jackson Parsey take on the role of global chief strategy officer, and Ben Cooper as global executive director in charge of its AI Products team.
