Rafters leads Seven’s Tuesday charge

Seven dominated the TV ratings for much of Tuesday, from morning when Sunrise delivered a 100,000 lead over Nine’s Today through to a near-1.9m audience for Packed To The Rafters.  

The network’s primetime capital share of 28.3% blew Nine (21.2%) and Ten (20.9%) out of the water.

According to preliminary overnight ratings from OzTam, the day began with Sunrise delivering an average audience of 400,000 to Today’s 301,000.

However, Nine and Ten both scored wins across the schedule.

The mid-afternoon battle of the gameshows went Nine’s way with Hot Seat (680,000) beating Deal Or No Deal (621,000).

The pendulum then swung back towards Seven with Seven News (1.4m) beat Nine News (1.2m) and Ten’s The Simpsons (617,000).

But the 7pm slot was Nine’s with its Two And A Half Men repeat (1.072m) beating Seven’s Home And Away (967,000) and Ten’s the 7PM project (927,000).

Ten’s best performer of the night came in the 7.30pm slot, where Talkin Bout Your Generation averaged 1.243m, ahead of Seven’s Four Weddings (1.054m) and Nine’s Top Gear (1.177m).

At 8.30pm Packed To The Rafters then delivered Seven 1.873m.

Ten’s schedule split at 8.30pm. Its NCIS repeat in Sydney and Brisbane rated 18th and 14th for the night, while Good News Week rated 13th, 11th and sixth in Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth.
