Razorfish starts search for a new ECD with Christian Behrendt preparing to depart

Christian BehrendtRazorfish executive creative director Christian Behrendt is to depart the digital agency after two years in the role, Mumbrella can reveal.

The digital agency is now searching for a replacement, with Behrendt understood to be returning to Germany for personal reasons.

“Christian has been a great inspiration to the team and we are now recruiting for a replacement ECD,” Doug Chapman managing director of Razorfish Australia told Mumbrella. 

The agency has seen a major changeover of its senior staff in the last 12 months with strategy director Ben Hourahine and technology director Nik Hendel both departing, while social director Jonny Stark moved to an APAC role and is now based out of Hong Kong although the agency notes that he is still involved with Razorfish’s Australian operations.

Behrendt is a former creative director with R/GA in New York who moved from the US to take the role.

He has previously been named one of AdWeek’s Worldwide Top 10 Creative Minds in Digital in 2011.

Razorfish’s clients include Qantas, Samsung, IGA and Australia Post.
