2DayFM’s Rove and Sam get national highlights program across the Hit Network
The hosts of 2DayFM’s struggling breakfast program Rove McManus and Sam Frost has been given its own weekly highlights program which will air each weeknight from 7pm-8pm on the Hit Network.
The new highlights program will start on Tuesday April 26 following Hamish & Andy and then be followed by Hit 30 with Emma Freeman and Angus O’Loughlin at 8pm.
The move comes as the pair continues to struggle in the radio ratings with this week’s radio ratings showing them stagnant at just a 3% share in Sydney.

Does this also mean that Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth are going to also have every street and bus stop plastered with Rove and Sam billboards / posters?

They market a show that is not ready for the mass. This is the next move?
They continue to defy the rules and smarts of marketing. I would applaud if they were proving these basics wrong, however ratings, advertiser demand and revenue would show they are not.

“Rove & Sam is a show that is authentic, funny and very real.”
OK, I’ve never listened to the show – but these adjectives don’t describe Rove. Perhaps ‘light, playful and non-threatening’.

There is almost nothing authentic about commercial radio. It is a soulless, greed driven industry that still has this archaic idea that it can force shows to catch on.
