Royal Melbourne Show attracts new and old sponsors Thomas Dux and CommBank

Specialty grocery store Thomas Dux has sponsored the Royal Melbourne Show for the first time, while CommBank has continued its association with the event that dates back to 1925.

The bank is using the event to promote its new app Kaching, which allows CommBank customers to make payments via mobile phone or email. CommBank will ‘Kaching’ $10 into the bank accounts of the first 75 customers to download and register the app at the Woolworths Fresh Food Pavilion, where the CommBank stand is located.

CommBank’s regional GM for Victoria Richard Porter commented: “Our continued support of the Royal Melbourne Show & the Royal Melbourne Dairy Show in 2012 demonstrates the Commonwealth Bank’s ongoing commitment to the Victorian community, particularly those in regional areas.”

Thomas Dux is sponsoring the Fine Food Deli and the Royal Melbourne Fine Food Awards at the show.

Thomas Dux marketing manager Marilla Dann said: “We pride ourselves on delivering the freshest premium seasonal produce of the finest quality. Our sponsorship of the Royal Melbourne Show is our way of honouring and giving back to the local producers that make this possible,” said Dann.

The community event, which is also sponsored by the likes of Coca-Cola, Woolworths, Pedigree, Herald Sun and RACV, attracts around 500,000 people every year.
