Saatchi & Saatchi NZ makes key creative hires

Anne Boothroyd, MumbrellaSaatchi & Saatchi New Zealand has made several new hires following a restructure of the creative department and the appointment of executive creative director Dylan Harrison earlier this year.

Among the appointments, Clemenger BBDO Wellington’s Anne Boothroyd joins as creative group head on July 7 and Saatchi & Saatchi LA’s Scott Huebscher takes up the role of digital creative director on June 16.   

Aim Proximity’s Steve Andersen and Dave Reid will also join the creative team on June 14.

The additions follows the departure of deputy creative director Tim Huse, who is leaving to join Sugar as creative director.

Harrison, the creative behind VW’s celebrated “Singing Dog” ad, replaced Mike O’Sullivan as ECD on February 22. He came from DDB London.

The agency had a turbulent end to the year with the both O’Sullivan and CEO Andrew Stone quitting. Stone was replaced by Nicola Bell in December.

Boothroyd most recently worked on a campaign for Positively Wellington Tourism, the NZ capital city’s tourism body. The TV commercial is part of a $2m “There’s No Place Like Wellington” campaign targeting potential Australian tourists.

She has also previously worked at Colenso Auckland. Accounts Boothroyd has worked on throughout her career include Yellow Pages, Vodafone, Air New Zealand, New Zealand Book Council, New Zealand Transport Agency, Frucor beverages and Mars.

Prior to Saatchi & Saatchi LA Huebscher was at jUXT Interactive, RPA and Bates, where he worked on a range of clients including Coca-Cola, Boost Mobile, FuseTV, Honda, Pioneer and Hyundai.

Meanwhile, Anderson and Reid have spent the last couple of years at Aim Proximity in Auckland working on Vodafone, The Warehouse, TVNZ, Air New Zealand and Yellow Pages. Prior to that, they were at Saatchi & Saatchi Johannesburg working on Peugeot, Sony Ericsson, Pampers, Olay, Guinness and Diageo.
