SBS names official broadcast partners for the FIFA Women’s World Cup

SBS has named Visa, Hyundai, Optus, Nike, Officeworks and TAB as its official broadcast partners for the FIFA Women’s World Cup.

The announcement:

SBS is ready to kick off the world’s biggest women’s sporting event, with Visa, Hyundai, Optus, Nike, Officeworks and TAB on board as official broadcast partners. With just over two weeks to go until the FIFA Women’s World Cup™, Australian audiences and organisations alike are ready to support the Matildas when the action starts on Saturday, 8 June.

The FIFA Women’s World Cup France 2019™ represents more than 30 years of SBS the spiritual home of the tournament. As the official broadcaster, SBS will bring Australian audiences unparalleled coverage of all the action, with esteemed sports journalist, Tracey Holmes, former Socceroo Captain, Craig Foster and Matildas legend, Joey Peters providing news and analysis from Sydney, while broadcaster David Basheer and former Matilda Sarah Walsh will report from France.

Football fans will be able to watch all Matildas’ matches live, free and in HD on SBS and SBS On Demand, as well as the opening match, all Quarter Finals, Semi Finals and the Final. All 52 matches of the tournament will be live and free on the SBS Radio app, with match commentary aired in up to three languages simultaneously; English and in languages of the competing teams.

The opening match on Saturday, 8 June from 4.00am* will see hosts France face Korea Republic, marking the start of a huge month of football on SBS. The Matildas will take on Italy on Sunday, 9 June* before battling Brazil just four days later. Australia will also face Jamaica on Wednesday, 19 June*.
