SCA brings back Luke Bradnam and Margaux Parker for Gold Coast-only drive show

Luke Bradnam and Margaux Parker will return to the airwaves on the Gold Coast this year with The Rush Hour running from 3pm to 6pm on Gold 92.5.

Previously Bradnam and Parker had been joined by Ben Dobbin and were broadcast throughout Brisbane and the Gold Coast, however, the scaled back show will no longer make it to Queensland’s capital.

When ‘The Rush Hour with Luke, Dobbo & Margaux Parker’ was axed in late last year, a spokesperson for SCA told Radio Today it was too difficult to balance catering to the two difference markets.

“After nearly two years of trying to balance the challenge of being the drive home show across both Brisbane and the Gold Coast, The Rush Hour will wrap up on December 7.”

The spokesperson also said SCA would be pouring its attention and focus onto the syndicated Triple M drive show Kennedy and Molloy, featuring Jane Kennedy and Mick Molloy.

Now, however, SCA will bring back Bradnam and Parker for the Gold Coast market.

The co-hosts were both keen to play up the local angle in their statements about their excitement for the year ahead.

“As a born and bred Gold Coaster, I know how important a local show is to the listeners and the community,” Bradnam said. “Talking all things relevant to the Gold Coast, I’m looking forward to stirring the pot and having some fun.”

Parker too is passionate about supporting the local market including local charities and community initiatives, SCA said.

“I am so extremely excited on how the Gold Coast has embraced me,” she added. “I look forward to be continuing to entertain listeners on Gold FM with local, fun and relatable conversation. I have really enjoyed the last 12 months on the airwaves and look forward to a big 2019.”

Gold 92.5 FM’s content director Corey Kay said the radio network was stoked to have the duo return.

“It’s a show that loves having a laugh, telling a yarn, and engaging with the Gold Coast,” Kay said.

“There is no one on radio more passionate about his hometown than Luke Bradnam, and Margaux Parker is as real and authentic as they come. Together, you’ll get one heck of a ride home every day from 3pm.”

The revived show kicks off for Gold Coast listeners on Gold 92.5 FM on 23 January.
