Schwartz Media appoints new NSW sales lead

Schwartz Media has appointed Belle Stewart as its new sales director to lead commercial opportunities for the company in New South Wales. Stewart joins from Isentia, where she was client solutions director.

Her previous experience also includes working for 10 Daily, Concrete Playground and Tastemade UK, and amounts to nearly a decade’s experience in the industry.

Schwartz Media has seen significant growth in the past year, and has reported a 40% increase in subscriptions of its flagship magazine The Monthly since March 2020.  Meanwhile, its weekly newspaper The Saturday Paper has seen a 67% increase.

Schwartz’s daily podcast, 7am, is ranked fourth most-downloaded podcast in the country, according to the Australian Podcast Ranker.

Schwartz Media’s chief executive, Rebecca Costello, said Schwartz had seen strong growth across all our titles in online, print and email subscription numbers.

“This tells us there is a real appetite for trusted independent media in Australia, particularly in this climate. It also presents some really exciting opportunities for advertisers to reach switched-on and intelligent audiences with dynamic campaigns across print, digital and audio.”

She added that Stewart had the media industry expertise to “create brand-aligned commercial opportunities building on the company’s record audience numbers in NSW”.

“We’re beyond excited to have Belle Stewart leading our growth into the Sydney market, creating new advertising opportunities for Schwartz Media,” Costello added.
