Scott Thomson joins Edelman Melbourne as managing director
Edeleman Melbourne has lured Edelman Toronto’s deputy general manager, Scott Thomson, back to Australia to become its managing director.
Thomson was deputy general manager at the firm’s Canadian office for five years, after moving from the London branch where he was deputy managing director of corporate and finance.
The PR professional has been at Edelman for the past 15 years.
Before relocating to Edelman in the UK, Thomson was the PR manager at Cisco Systems across Australia and New Zealand for three years.
Steve Spurr, CEO of Edelman Australia, said in a statement: “The breadth of Scott’s international experience, combined with his knowledge of the Australian market, not to mention his distinctively Aussie accent, is a rare combination that will ensure our local clients are expertly served.
“There are few consultants who are as conversant as Scott in the global dynamics of trust, or as able to help clients to build it among their stakeholders.”
The appointment comes five days after Edeleman won Deliveroo’s and DiDi’s PR accounts and three months after Edelman added Unilever Corporate and five of its brands to its portfolio of clients.
Edelman’s clients include Samsung, Kellogg’s, Huggies, Panadol and HP.
