Seven Communications wins competitive pitch for Tomra’s account

Following a competitive pitch process, boutique agency Seven Communications has been appointed by Tomra Collection Solutions Australia, the company behind ‘reverse vending machines’ allowing containers to be deposited for a 10 cent refund per item.

The first project Seven has worked on is a drought and bushfire recycling appeal called Bottles for the Bush, which will see people encouraged to donate their 10 cent refunds to Rural Aid via the vending machines. Since its launch two weeks ago, $60,000 of the $250,000 goal (to be reached by February 2020) has been donated.

The account’s remit will include ‘always on’ activity and campaigns aimed at increasing participation in the recycling initiative.

Tomra’s marketing activations manager, Rachel Draper, said Seven Communications stood out with its pitch.

“Seven presented a strong strategic vision for Tomra’s communications in Australia. Their passion and commitment to being accountable and delivering results is already proven and we look forward to working together to encourage more Aussies to recycle,” Draper said.

Last month, Seven Communications also won subscription start-up Hello Cars’ account. It also recently started working with recruitment and management consultancy firm, ASPL.

“We are thrilled to be working with Tomra and leading their communications in Australia. Just weeks in, we have secured over 500 pieces of editorial coverage most of which is to support Bottles for the Bush – a very worthwhile and timely cause,” said Seven’s co-founder, Heather Mollins.

“Our recent client wins demonstrate the diverse communications capability of the agency and our seven values which address common client bug bears by providing senior service daily, proactive ideas and real business outcomes.”
