Seven returns to winning ways after Nine’s fortnight of TV ratings dominance comes to end
Despite the strength of The Voice, Nine has failed to make its three ratings week wins a row after being pipped by Seven at the last.
According to preliminary overnight metro ratings from OzTAM, Nine finished with a primary channel peak time share of 19% for last Sunday to Monday. Seven finished just ahead on 19.4%.
A strong Sunday and Monday night performance had allowed Nine to holding the week’s cumulative ratings lead through until Thursday. Seven then won every night from Tuesday through to Saturday.
Ten finished the week with a share of 13.8%, just ahead of ABC’s 12.8%.
With 13 weeks of the 40 week official ratings year – which excludes the summer and easter holidays – now gone, Seven has now won 11 weeks to Nine’s two.
On Saturday, the most watched show was Seven News, which averaged 927,000 viewers across the five city metro. Next was ABC News on 846,000 while Nine News was third on 840,000.
In the morning battle, Nine’s Weekend Today had a narrow victory over Seven’s Weekend Sunrise, by 302,000 to 300,000.
