Seven to air Miss Universe

The Seven Network  has won the right to air the Miss Universe Beauty Pageant on its channel 7TWO this month.     

The announcement:

Miss Australia, Jesinta Campbell will take on the most beautiful women in the world in the ultimate beauty contest, the 2010 Miss Universe Pageant, this month on 7TWO.

Eighteen year old Jesinta, who hails from the Gold Coast, will compete alongside contestants from around the world including the USA, India and Brazil, with the hope of becoming the first Australian since Jennifer Hawkins in 2004 to claim the ultimate prize and the crown.

Each contestant, representing over 80 countries, will compete in three categories: swimsuit, evening gown and interview.

The world will also be watching as Australia unveils its controversial national costume – a unique creation inspired by the outback.

Rocker turned-reality star of “Celebrity Apprentice” Bret Michaels will host alongside judges Melania Trump, wife of Donald and flamboyant Olympic figure skater Johnny Weir.

Broadcast in more than 180 countries, the Miss Universe Pageant will air hot off the satellite on 7TWO on Tuesday August 24 at 7pm.
