Better Homes and Gardens helps Seven to a Friday night ratings win

Seven’s Better Homes & Gardens along and The Chase Australia gave Seven an easy night’s win in Friday night’s OzTAM television ratings.

Across the five metro TV markets, Seven attracted 22.2% of the evening’s audience with Nine scoring 16.2%. Ten, ABC and SBS followed with 14.1, 11.8 and 4.8% respectively.

 

Seven News and Today Tonight were the evening’s most watched shows with an average of 857,000 and 841,000 respectively across the five metros. The two Nine News bulletins followed with 766,000 and 741,000.

Better Homes and Gardens came in fifth with 697,000 viewers, beating out the ABC 7pm News which attracted 608 viewers.

Nationally, Seven performed even better with four of the five highest rating shows across the country.

Seven News and Today Tonight attracted a national audience of 1,336,000 and 1,248,000 viewers with Better Homes & Gardens and The Chase Australia grabbing 1,107,000 and 827,000 viewers. ABC News was the fourth most watched national show with 896,000 viewers.

Of other non-news programs, Channel Ten’s Graham Norton Show and The Living Room made the top ten metro shows with 491,000 and 487,000 viewers although both were beaten by The Chase Australia’s 504,000.

The ABC’s British police drama Endeavour was just outside the night’s metro top ten with an audience of 446,000 viewers.

SBS’s highest rating program was Great British Railway Journeys as the 23rd most watched show of the day with 273,000 metro viewers, narrowly edging out Seven’s Sunrise and Nine’s Today breakfast shows which logged audiences of 267,000 and 263,000 respectively.
