Among entertainment programs,  Ten’s MasterChef was the best, but with 522,000 metro viewers, remains significantly down on last year when the program regularly topped a million metro viewers.

The program also managed a rare win in all three key advertising demos.

In primetime on Seven, 507,000 metro viewers watched Home And Away, while 314,000 watched The Front Bar which followed.

Nine’s offering of Thursday Night NRL Live was watched by 389,000 metro viewers. ABC’s Back Roads brought in 430,000 metro viewers for the government broadcaster.

Not since Married At First Sight ended has any entertainment program managed to regularly test the strength of Seven and Nine News in the overnight ratings.

Meanwhile, 7TWO had the highest share of any multi-channel, bringing in 4.4%.
