SFF, up 15% at box office

Sydney Film Festival CEO Leigh Small announced a 15 percent increase in box office income this year, and 20 percent icnrease in overall attendance year-on-year.

According to Small, single ticket sales and flexi-passes are increasingly popular, which allowed the two-week 2010 edition to have higher sales than the last three-week festival in 2008.

The publication of these results coincided with the announcement of the SFF Audience Awards:

  • Best Fiction Feature at the State Theatre – Boy
  • Best Fiction Feature at Satellite Venues – Caught Inside
  • Best Documentary at the State Theatre – The Most Dangerous Man in America: Daniel Ellsberg and the Pentagon Papers
  • Best Documentary at Satellite Venues – Bill Cunningham New York
